LCSW Supervision and Clinical Consultation
Supervision, consultation and ongoing study are important for all psychotherapists throughout their careers. I participate in regular consultation and training and will as long as I continue to practice. Ongoing professional and peer consultation makes it possible for me to maintain love and energy for my work and a level of expertise that I could not sustain without support.
As a board certified supervisor for LCSW licensure, I enjoy working with new clinicians, helping them integrate their education with experience as they develop their skills. I provide skilled guidance, support, encouragement, and honest feedback. Good supervision promotes personal growth, clinical excellence and healthy collegial relationships.
I also provide consultation with licensed psychotherapists who seek to deepen their work through ongoing professional development . These sessions focus on development of professional identity, integrating favorite models and interventions, listening to countertransference, and the confident use of self.
Practice Model
I integrate psychodynamic theory and attachment theory with specific use of cognitive behavioral interventions, nature therapy, mindfulness, and creativity. I work with the presenting issues as understood by exploring the past. Being fully present, studying transference and countertransference, providing safety, and working with affect are key in my work. I believe if we understand our clients and connect with them, they will help us know what they need from us.
